England triumph in Inverurie
News Date 22/03/2019
A goal in each half saw England gain a deserved win over Scotland at Inverurie Locos to kick start their season.  Full match report to follow in competitions...

England secured their first points of the 2019 campaign with a two nil victory away to Scotland last night in Harlaw Park (Friday, March 22).

Owen WINDSOR opened the scoring for the visitors with a 20 yard belter in the thirteenth minute while the result was wrapped up when substitute Declan ARBOR converted brilliantly in the 92nd minute to take all three points on offer.

Scotland on the other hand are without a win from two and go into match day five as they play host to the Republic of Ireland. This will be William O’Connor’s first outing of the series as they take to the field next Thursday evening in Ayr United FC.

This will be the Scots penultimate fixture and the team will no doubt want to put on a show and secure their first win in three while the Republic of Ireland look to defend their title.

Northern Ireland are enjoying the opening exchanges in this year’s competition having secured their second win of the campaign last week away to Wales as Ethan WYNNE converted after 73 minutes to ensure Frank Wilson’s dominance in this season’s Shield.

England’s confidence will be building nicely as they welcome Northern Ireland to Redditch United on April 5 for a must win game for the hosts, while a win for the visitors could see them in contention for the title.
