Victory Shield day 2 games
News Date 08/11/2023
The first game today saw an entertaining battle between Scotland and Northern Ireland.  Scotland took the lead through Cole Burke in the 16th minute and they showed dominance throughout the first half.  Northern Ireland started the second half well and scored an equaliser in the 46th minute through Scott Hamilton.  Four minutes later Scott struck again to put the Irish into the lead.  Cameron Patterson made an important save from a penalty before  Fletcher Boyd grabbed the final goal of the game in the 76th minute.  Points shared.

The second game at Denbigh between Cymru and Republic of Ireland was a stunner.  The home side took the lead in the second minute thanks to a Jadon Lienou goal and the Welsh did very well being the more agressive side.  A second in the last minute of added first half time from Liuie Bradbury saw the Welsh lads with a deserved half time lead.  The REpublic made four changes at half time and this ignited their touchpaper.  With a positive drive into the box during the first few minutes a desperate attempt to foil the attach saw a penalty awarded which Micheal Noonan calmly slotted home.  Five minutes later anoth rash tackle saw penalty number two which Eliot Meredith did well to keep out and preserve the Cymru lead.  Noonan had other ideas though and five minutes later he fired home from short range to tie the game.  A right royal battle ensued until the last minute of added time when yet another penalty was awarded to Ireland for handball.  Mohammed Oladiti stepped up to calmly send the ball home and win the game for the Republic - last kick of the game!
